  • Veja este post em português. First off all, thanks to Omniglot for his support. If you want to see your name in other type of scripts see here.

I can write your name in dêvanágari script to you. It’s free for two words. My name is Marco Carvalho, I’m a Swásthya Yôga teacher. My sanskrit studies begins with my yôga training in 2001.

    How It works?

Very simple! Leave a comment with your name or single sanskrit word and i’ll update this post with the word in dêvanágari script.

    What is the dêvanágari script?

Is an abugida script. It is the main script used to write the Hindi, Marathi, and Nepali languages. Since the 19th century, it has become the most common script used to represent Sanskrit. (from Wikipedia)

    What is our price?

For names and single sanskrit words it’s FREE. Sanskrit translations and more than 2 words i’ll charge $5 dollars for a word ($15 minimum). I use paypal. You may click the botton below to pay the minumum charge of $15 and get 3 words transliteration/translation.

    More than 3 words

Leave a commentary with your request and I’ll send an invoice to your email with the bill, then after paypal confirmation I’ll send to you the translitaration/translation.

Before you ask me your name transliteration

I need to know how sound your name, becouse dêvanágari script is an abugida script that is a segmental writing system in which each letter (basic character) represents a consonant accompanied by a specific vowel; other vowels are indicated by modification of the consonant sign, either by means of diacritics or through a change in the form of the consonant.

If I don’t know how is the sound of your name, I’ll ask you to say it to me (remember, my mother language is portuguese). This procedure assures a good transliterations. Some names can be trickie to translitarate.

Some thing I CAN’T do in dêvanágari script.

    Some impossibilities:

    • F e Z sound don’t exists, so names like Faye and Zack can’t be written (!!!)
    • There are a planty more, but I’m unable to list all then right know.

If you wan’t some Shiva images to tatto you can se this post. A sample:

    metal_devi.jpgA Dêvi statue.

    Ôm design tattoo

A greater Ôm image can be found here. This is the Ôm design adopted by Swásthya Yôga School. If you see this symbol some where you can assume there are a Swásthya Yôgin near.

Some words from Swásthya Yôga philosofy School.
