Veja este post em português. First off all, thanks to Omniglot for his support. If you want to see your name in other type of scripts see here.
I can write your name in dêvanágari script to you. It’s free for two words. My name is Marco Carvalho, I’m a Swásthya Yôga teacher. My sanskrit studies begins with my yôga training in 2001.
Very simple! Leave a comment with your name or single sanskrit word and i’ll update this post with the word in dêvanágari script.
Is an abugida script. It is the main script used to write the Hindi, Marathi, and Nepali languages. Since the 19th century, it has become the most common script used to represent Sanskrit. (from Wikipedia)
For names and single sanskrit words it’s FREE. Sanskrit translations and more than 2 words i’ll charge $5 dollars for a word ($15 minimum). I use paypal. You may click the botton below to pay the minumum charge of $15 and get 3 words transliteration/translation.
Leave a commentary with your request and I’ll send an invoice to your email with the bill, then after paypal confirmation I’ll send to you the translitaration/translation.
I need to know how sound your name, becouse dêvanágari script is an abugida script that is a segmental writing system in which each letter (basic character) represents a consonant accompanied by a specific vowel; other vowels are indicated by modification of the consonant sign, either by means of diacritics or through a change in the form of the consonant.
If I don’t know how is the sound of your name, I’ll ask you to say it to me (remember, my mother language is portuguese). This procedure assures a good transliterations. Some names can be trickie to translitarate.
Some impossibilities:
If you wan’t some Shiva images to tatto you can se this post. A sample:
A greater Ôm image can be found here. This is the Ôm design adopted by Swásthya Yôga School. If you see this symbol some where you can assume there are a Swásthya Yôgin near.

Hi
I would like to have “Live” translated into sanskrit for a a tattoo. I am looking for live as in Live passionately, to live. but only the world live.
I did already make a payment/donation on paypal even though you indicated t was free for single words.
Thanks for your help.
Darrell
I had sended to your email the translation and a sound file with the correct pronunciation.
If you don’t receive please let me know.
Cya.
Hi Marco,
Thanks for your translation.
If I wanted simply live what would that be? Or does simply saying live not convey an active compelling desire to live life fully? I was trying to confirm what I had received previously as the translation for live and for live passionately
What I received before had the same root for live , jiva, but another word for passionately. I attempted sending t to you before but it didn’t work In addition the word for live was placed at the rear of the phrase rather than the front. What would it mean to simply use jiva? I had better luck confirming your translation with the exception that I could not find your full translation of kamatas, basically I could not find the word listed with the las character.
I really appreciate your help and I hope I’m not being a pain. I’m going to have this one my body fr the rest of my life so I’m just doing a little checking
Thanks again
Darrell

I really want to know what ’sky’ is in sanskrit, I find so many different translations and want to know what the correct one is, it is for a tattoo.
Greetinx from Holland!
Faye
Greetinx from Brasil!
Translations I charge a little fee of $15 to translate up to 3 words
Otherwise all people in internet will ask-me for free translations that spend a huge time of mine
With you translation you’ll be happy and with $15 in my pocket I’ll be too! heheheeh
Thank you so much for the translation. I really do appreciate your assistance in doing so. :))
But it’s a single sanskrit word right?
Sorry I am not that rich, I am also going to tattoo it myself!
No.. it’s a single english word… if you want me to translate english to sanskrit it’s $15… transliterations are free.. transliterate is just pass the word from latin script to devanagari script…
To search the word sky in sanskrit.. just go to http://webapps.uni-koeln.de/tamil/ sanskrit-english-sanskrit dictionary and when you found a word for sky… tell me and i’ll transliterate it to devanagari script for you for free as I do for every one. When you begin to search in dictionary you will know why I charge translations
Cya
I get the point, it’s hard to find the good word in sanskrit, but I think/hope I found the right word!
dyauh
But there are so many translations in devanagari, how do you know you have the right one?
Sorry I am curious, I just really like the language.
You have to look where and how this word are used (the dictionary teels some classic texts that it is used and you have to see it the context that the word is used)
dyau is couple of days came from dyu (day). dyauh I don’t know what is it. Now you know why I charge $15 for translations, it’s time expensive. Sanskrit is a ancient language, harder than portuguese, german, dutch
How many years do you study dutch in school? Same time to learn sanskrit
When you ask me to translate for free you are asking me to put away 8 years of hard work of studies, 8 years of money that i spent with sanskrit classes, just to be a “nice guy on internet”.
http://sanskritdocuments.org/ < - a huge collection. Tutorials and docs to learn and pratice sanskrit.
