I need to know how sound your name, becouse dêvanágari script is an abugida script that is a segmental writing system in which each letter (basic character) represents a consonant accompanied by a specific vowel; other vowels are indicated by modification of the consonant sign, either by means of diacritics or through a change in the form of the consonant.
If I don’t know how is the sound of your name, I’ll ask you to say it to me (remember, my mother language is portuguese). This procedure assures a good transliterations. Some names can be trickie to translitarate.

Hi, Can you show me the sanskrit symbol for “maitri”?
I know you have something similar above (maitrata) but do they mean the same thing? (I’m looking for the word that means loving kindness…I got it from Pema Chodron’s Comfortably With Uncertainty and would like to get a tattoo of it). Thanks so much for your help!
~Sarah
But maitrí is friendship…. Is this what do you want?
I updated the list with maitrí
